OFFICER BESSERA TERMINATED

  

Brenham Police Chief Rex Phelps terminated Police Officer David Bessera on the recommendations of an internal affairs investigation.

Bessera was suspended after he was arrested last week for public intoxication.  The Internal Affairs department sent a recommendation to the chief saying it was in the ‘best interest of the department’ to terminate the rookie officer.

Bessera was arrested last Thursday at the Bluebonnet Shopping Center when Officer David Dudenhoeffer determined he was intoxicated and arrested him.  The Police Department spokesperson emphasizes that Bessera was off-duty and in his private car when he was arrested.
