SALEM HOME HEAVILY DAMAGED BY FIRE

  

A home in Salem suffered major damage after it caught fire early Friday evening.

Salem and Brenham firefighters were called out to the one story home in the 4000 block of FM-3456, just after 6:00 Friday night.

Authorities say when they arrived there was fire and smoke inside the living area—that fire then grew rapidly and spread quickly into the attic.

The home suffered major smoke and fire damage.

There were no injuries but the family’s two dogs died in the fire.

Chappell Hill and Berlin Fire Departments were also called out for mutual aid.

Fire fighters were at the scene for over three hours.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
