SALEM MOBILE HOME FIRE STILL UNDER INVESTIGATION
Salem Fire Chief John Santos says they still don’t know what started a fire that totally destroyed a mobile home on FM 109 Wednesday afternoon.
Four fire departments, including the Salem and Brenham departments responded to the fire in the 1400 block of FM 109 just after four Wednesday afternoon. The firefighters found the home completely engulfed in heavy flames. The family was able to get out safely.
Santos says they have been looking for the cause of the fire for the past two days but the investigation has been inconclusive so far.
The initial investigation said the fire was likely started on the front porch.
It took firefighters four hours to put out the fire.
