SEVERE WEATHER QUICKLY SWEEPS THROUGH THE BRAZOS VALLEY

Brenham, Washington County and the rest of the Brazos Valley were briefly caught up in the wave of severe weather that swept through the mid-section of the nation late last (Sunday) night and early today (Monday).

While the Brazos Valley was under a severe thunderstorm warning for most of the night, the brief hit of severe weather struck at about 4:30am Monday, leaving large hail in parts of Washington County.  The storm quickly moved on.

A powerful storm system rumbled through the central and southern part of the United State through much of the weekend. At least eight people were killed in a tornado in Arkansas and a small town in Oklahoma was devastated.

The storm quickly passed through Washington County and the rest of the day appears to be a very warm, almost summerlike day.
