SIX NEW MACHINIST AT HODDE CENTER

  

Six new machinists from Brenham, Bryan, and Navasota are now fully qualified to work in a growing in which they can earn a good living with job security even with a tough economy.

David Yeager, the Director of Blinn College’s A.W. Hodde Jr., Technical Education Training Center says making a stable and prosperous future for local people is the true mission of the Center.

 

Michael Doll, Luis Rivera, Ryan Meinecke and William Paul of Brenham, Jason Massey of Bryan and Alfredo Hernandez of Navasota each received their graduation certificates after completing 280 hours of training.  The certification included 200 hours of hands on experience working with mills and lathes.

The course at the Hodde Center covers mathematics, precision measurements, blueprint reading and manual operation of mills and lathes.

MIC Group and TFE Company Inc., had each donated computer numerical controlled machines to the Hodde Center and Blinn purchased another to give the Center manufacturing lab a total of 12 machines for student training.

The next machinist class begins November fourth.  The $2100 course has partial scholarships available.
