SLOW EARLY VOTING
Just over 1400 voters have cast their ballots in early voting for the Texas primary in Washington County, as of Wednesday.
Washington County Clerk Beth Rothermel reports the 1384 people have voted in the Republican Party primary and 140 people have cast Democratic ballots.
Rothermel says however, this is a relatively low voter turnout.
The only locally contested races are in the Republican primary. Both parties have contested statewide races, however.
Early voting continues through Friday from 8am to 5pm at the Washington County Courthouse annex.
Election day is Tuesday from 7am to 7pm. Rothermel says they will have 15 polling sites open and to find where you need to vote, check your orange voter registration card.
