STAKE OUT NABS THREE AUTO BURGLARS

  

An overnight stakeout by police and sheriff’s deputies nabbed three auto burglary suspects in the very early morning hours today (Wednesday), possibly breaking up an auto burglary ring that had hit several hotel parking lots..

Brenham police and Washington County Sheriff’s deputies have been investigating a series of auto/truck break ins at local hotel parking lots.  This (Wednesday) morning police officer David Dudenhoeffer and Sheriff’s Deputy Kevin Mertz were watching the Hampton Inn parking lot, off Highway 290, just before 2 am,  when a silver colored Dodge drove up besides a pickup truck.  Cpl. Chris Jackson of the Brenham police department says the law enforcement team moved when they heard glass break on the truck.

  The suspects, all from Katy, are 23-year old Jarid Atwood, 22-year old Vanessa Nicole Gonzales and Andrew Craig Stilwell.  All are charged with burglary of a motor vehicle, possession of criminal instruments, three counts of possession of dangerous drugs and the unlawful possession of a firearm.  Stilwell faces an enhanced charge of possession of an unlawful firearm by a felon.  Several forms of prescription narcotics were found in their car along with numerous electronic articles stolen in previous auto burglaries reported from Brenham hotel parking lot auto burglaries.
