STOLEN FIREARMS

Brenham police are investigating two cases of firearms stolen during burglaries Monday.

Brenham police are searching for a stolen firearm, taken from a Gay Hill Street residence during the morning hours Monday.

Cpl. Stephen Eilert of the Brenham police department was called to the 800 block of Gay Hill after the resident found that sometime between four am and noon Monday, someone had broken into her home and stole a .22 caliber pistol.  This case remains under investigation.

Cpl. Eilert responded to another firearm theft case earlier in the day.  Eilert was called to the scene in the 2000 block of Highway 290 east.   A man keeping several items at Brenham Self Storage reported that his storage unit had been broken into sometime in the past week.  The man said he hade multiple firearms stolen in the break in.  He also lost some antique lighter and belt buckles.

The office manager of the storage company reported that several units were burglarized between March 22nd and the 24th.
