Additional charges have been filed against two Brenham teens who were arrested last week on burglary and theft charges.

Just before 1:00 Wednesday morning, Washington County Sheriff’s deputies and Brenham Police officers arrested 18-year old Gamarcus Dewayne Sheppard on a charge of Unauthorized use of a Motor Vehicle.

Sheppard was arrested at his home without incident.

He is charged with stealing a vehicle August 2nd from the Bluebonnet Hills Subdivision.  That vehicle was recovered by deputies on Rau Road the next day.

A warrant was also issued in the same case for 18-year old Terry Dewayne Rogers Jr.  Rogers remains at large.

The warrant was issued as part of an ongoing investigation by the Sherrif’s office.

Both Roger and Sheppard were arrested last week along with two other teens for a separate case of Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, stolen from a residence near Tigerpoint Road.

Both Sheppard and Rogers were free on $25,000 bond.

  1. Sad but True, The draft is not the answer for a couple reasons first it’s not the governments job to raise our children, next do we want the government raising our children and the expense for this would be enormous. We need to protect the boarders first! Also I have tremendous respect for our military and I don’t think we want to saturate our armed forces with the dregs of society because parents use every excuse not to raise their children properly.
Start making the penalties tougher for the parents who are supposed to be raising them in the first place and then maybe the kids will have more respect for their elders and they would end up being better adults in the end. The kind of young people we would like to serve and represent our country.

  2. Maybe it’s time for no bond since being arrested the first time wasn’t enough. I’m thinking the law needs to buckle down on what is becoming a huge issue in this sleepy little town. There always seems to be some reason these criminals are being returned to the streets. Unfortunately, they don’t change. They keep doing the same things until finally they end up in Huntsville for an even bigger crime. Wake up people!

  3. I don’t know what the answer is about the way our young people think and the things they do to our society maybe the draft should be reinstated so our young people learn some respect and discipline and relieze that they live in the greatest nation in the world and be proud to be a part of it.

  4. So we had them and now we don’t??? And now there is a warrent out for them??? Our system is messed up

  5. I opened KWHI.com this morning and saw nothing but more trouble. What is going on with all the crime lately and why do the criminals feel the need to look so “tough” in their mug shots? I guess showing some remorse would be a sign of weakness to these people. It is almost laughable that they think they are so cool. I can’t speak for everyone but I am completely fed up with the crime in our town. How would they feel if we broke into their house or their family’s house and took their things. Oh, wait a minute, that would NEVER happen to them. Give me a break.

  6. Harsher time for the crime is only way to maybe solve this issue!!! And the issue about that we have to protect the person name(s) because he / she is a minor?? REALLY!!! I think if you are old enough (or think you are) to do the crime then you should have your name out there like the big boys/girls. . . . And for those parents who want to cry and whine “oh my child would never do that!” wake up and start being parents. . any child (especially under the age of 18) that is out and about after 10 and for sure midnight and not at a job or school event, is probably up to no good. It sad that you work so hard and just because you may have forgotten, in some cases, to lock up all your valuables (vehicles/houses) that someone else thinks it is ok to just take it. . . .
