Former Brenham Cubs and current Texas Longhorn linebacker Tim Cole has undergone successful postseason surgery.

Head Athletic Trainer for Football Kenny Boyd said Cole underwent successful hip surgery on Jan. 7.

Cole is expected back in time for spring practice, the first under new head coach Charlie Strong.

Cole was a starting linebacker for the Cubs from 2009-20011.  He was a three-time first-team All-District honoree.  He was also All-State and All-American in 2011.

Meanwhile, Texas offensive tackle Josh Cochran, who has started 23 games for the ‘Horns, will not return for his senior season due to a recurring shoulder injury.

Three other players have undergone successful postseason surgeries: receiver Bryant Jackson (foot), linebacker Dalton Santos (hip) and defensive tackle Paul Boyette Jr. (shoulder). Santos is expected to take part in spring drills. Jackson and Boyette are expected to return for summer workouts.
