TRAFFIC STOP DRUG BUST

  

A 42-year old Brenham man was arrested last (Monday) night after a traffic stop in the section of South Jackson and Charles Lewis.  A check discovered Chad Michael Paris was wanted on a warrant for driving while license invalid and that prompted a search of his car.

Officer Lloyd Powell stopped Paris just after 9pm because of an expired inspection stick but he he suspected he suepcted hewas wanted on a warrant.  His driver’s license was expired but during the stop Powell could detect a strong odor that made to suspect drugs were in the vehicle.

A search of the car found ‘strawberry krush’ a synthetic form of marijuana. Paris was  still driving with an invalid driver’s license, but was also arrested on the warrant. Powell also arrested Paris for the possession of controlled substances. The original police report called the offense possession of controlled substtance but the charge is 'possession of synthetic cannabinoids.
