VETERANS TO REMEMBER MEMORIAL DAY

Memorial Day is a solemn holiday that begins the festive summer season.  It’s the day that Americans gather to remember the fallen soldiers, sailors, Marines and airmen who gave their lives to keep our nation free.

This has never been lost on the Veterans Associations of Washington County.  For decades they have honored the fallen in a ceremony.  The ceremony has been in Fireman’s Park since the Veteran’s Plaza was built there 12 years ago.

Ben Seeker of the Veterans of Foreign Wars says Memorial Day is remembered and commemorated, rather than celebrated.
