WALLER CO. WOMAN ARRESTED IN DRUG BUST

  

Authorities have arrested a Waller County woman who they say used her 7-year-old daughter to collect and inspect cash during a cocaine deal.

The Waller County district attorney Elton Mathis, tells KPRC-TV that Sylvia Tijerina was arrested after an undercover officer video recorded a drug deal outside the Taconaso Bar in Hempstead earlier this month. Mathis says Tijerina faces charges of endangering a child and selling drugs.

He says Tijerina told the officer to give the money to the daughter, who was trained to catch counterfeit bills. Mathis says the mother had 8 grams of cocaine when she was arrested outside the bar in the 47000 block of Business 290 in Hempstead.

Tejirina is being held on $100,000 bond at the Waller County Jail. Other family members are caring for the daughter.
