WASHINGTON COUNTY HISTORICAL COMMISSION HONORED
The Washington County Commissioners recognized the Washington County Historical Commission at today’s (Tuesday’s) meeting.
For the 20th consecutive year the Texas Historical Commission has awarded the local commission with the Distinguished Service Award. This is in recognition for the efforts to record and preserve the county’s history.
Dr. Wilfred Dietrich has headed the Historical Commission for all of those 20 years, something noted by Precinct Four County Commissioner Joy Fuchs.
Dr. Dietrich recounted the many by many people who have helped the Commission continue to preserve the rich local history over the past two decades.
