WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY

  

The Brenham School district announced they are closed today. Schools in Burton, Caldwelland Snook also anounced they are closed today. 

We may have gotten a very slight break in the weather.  The National Weather Service has downgraded the winter weather warning to a winter weather advisory for Brenham, Washington County and the rest of the Brazos Valley.

Snow and sleet moved in from the west but stayed away from our area overnight. 

The Texas Department of Transportation still warns of bridges and overpasses being iced over.  Bob Colwell of TxDot says they have the trucks ready to clear any iced over road.  The weather has made for some changes in other areas.  Colwell  says due to the weather conditions the Washington County Maintenance office and TxDot will close the US. 290 frontage road entrance ramp in front of LaRoche Chevrolet.  The closure will last from 9am Thursday until noon so repairs can be made to the guardrail on this ra

The Columbus Schools are opening at 10:30am.

The National Weather Service is predicting quick relief for this round of frigid weather, with temperatures rising to the 70s on Friday.
