$1.5-MILLION IN COCAINE FOUND IN COLORADO CO. TRAFFIC STOP

  

A Colorado County traffic stop resulted in the discovery of one-and-a-half-million dollars in cocaine.

According to Weimar Police Chief Todd Jacobs, DPS troopers stopped a Ford pickup on I-10, Friday afternoon.  The vehicle was driven by Gumercindo Sandoval Lozano out of Mission Texas.

Weimar Police Officer Casey Thumann and her K-9 partner Lido responded.  Lido positively alerted on the vehicle, which allowed a thorough search, which turned up 15 bricks of cocaine weighing approximately 35 lbs.

The cocaine has an estimated street value of approximately 1.5 million dollars.

Lozano was arrested and charged.
