13,000 MS150 BIKE RIDERS TO RIDE THROUGH AUSTIN COUNTY

  

On Saturday, the BP-MS150 Bike ride will be coming into Austin County from Houston on FM 529 as well as SH 159 East.  There will be approximately 13,000 riders.  The riders will begin entering the county as early as 8 AM and will be in the area until about 4 PM. There are numerous break points along the route with one of the stop being in Bellville as the rider have lunch at the Fairgrounds.

Mike Brinkmeyer who has been involved with the MS150 bike ride for 11 years says that he has seen the positive outcome of rides such as these.

There are a couple of roads that will be closed during the ride. Those roads will be Nelsonville Church Rd, in Nelsonville, and a portion of Main St. in Industry.  Austin County reminds drivers to be cautious and avoid the areas of the route if possible to keep from being delayed.  There will be numerous officers and officials along the route to assist with the traffic and riders to ensure all are safe while on our roadways.
