285 POUNDS OF MARIJUANA SIEZED BY FAYETTE COUNTY K-9 LOBOS

  

Fayette County Sheriff’s Office has made another drug bust with the help of K-9 Officer Lobos.

Sheriff Keith Korenek says the bust happened on Thursday morning around 11:30 am. Sgt. Randy Thumann and K9 partner Lobos, stopped a Ford F-150 truck on Interstate 10 at the 660 MM near Flatonia for a traffic violation.

Sgt. Thumann questioned the driver, Jose Armendo Arroyo, 39, of Zapata, Texas. Arroyo gave Sgt. Thumann a suspicious travel itinerary of his journey. Thumann also observed Arroyo’s nervous, abnormal behavior.

Consent was given to search the vehicle and Sgt. Thumann found the auxiliary fuel tank in the bed of the truck had no fuel. When Thumann accessed the compartment, he found 16 wrapped bundles which contained approximately 285 pounds of marihuana. The drugs have a street value of $142,000.

Jose Armendo Arroyo was charged with felony possession of marijuana and was transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center where he was released to the jail staff.
