SOMERVILLE MAN ARRESTED IN BRENHAM
(Washington Co. Jail)
A Somerville man faces charges after his arrest early Tuesday morning following a traffic stop.
Shortly before 1:00 Tuesday morning, Cpl. Justin Schiller responded to a reckless driver call on US 290.
The caller said the vehicle was driving the wrong way and then turned but was having trouble staying in the lines. Schiller located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.
58-year old Victor Benavides of Somerville indicated he had been prescribed some medication before driving.
Dispatch said the driver had a previous conviction for driving while license invalid.
Benavides was arrested and taken to the Washington County Jail. He is charged with Driving While License Invalid with a Previous Conviction.
