50TH ANNIVERSARY OF G.W. CARVER HIGH SCHOOL CLOSING

Navasota’s George Washington Carver High School is honoring its final graduating class of 50 years ago.

This year is the 50th anniversary of the closing of the school, and the class of 1968 was its last graduating class.

In recognition of the school’s historical impact, the Texas Historical Commission approved a marker to be placed at the school.  The George Washington Carver Alumni Association intends to plant the marker at its annual high school reunion from June 22-24.
