A Hempstead man is in custody after his arrest in Brenham Tuesday morning.

46-year old Marlon Bryant was wanted on several outstanding felony warrants from nearby counties.

Tuesday morning around 11:00, Brenham officers recognized Bryant.  Cpl. Tommy Kurie attempted to make a traffic stop in the 2400 block of Highway 290 East, but Bryant reportedly fled in his vehicle.

Authorities say Bryant then left the highway in the 2800 block of 290 and drove through a field.

He then stopped the car and fled on foot, but was captured a short time later, when the K9 unit was deployed and Bryant was located and arrested.

Bryant is charged locally with Evading arrest, as well as the felony warrants.

  1. Good job BPD I work in the area and he could have gotten away if the K9 did not come to save the day.
