$7.86 MILLION IN POT PLANTS CONFISCATED IN WALKER COUNTY

$7.86 million in marijuana plants were confiscated after Walker County authorities were led to a pot grow.

On June 9th around 3pm, the Walker County Sheriff’s Office answered a dispatch to FM 2989 where they were met by a property owner.

The property owner had located what appeared to be marijuana plants while working on his land, and called authorities.

He gave them permission to enter the property, and as they approached the grow site, they spotted a Hispanic male approaching them. As they announced their association to the Walker County Sheriff’s Office, the man fled on foot into a wooded area, and has not been caught.

He is described as a man of about 20’s to early 30’s in age, 6’2” height, black hair, last seen wearing blue jeans and a light colored t-shirt.

5,255 plants were located, with an estimated street value of $7,866,000.

A living area was also found on the site.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Walker County Sheriff’s Office at 936-435-2400.
