92 ATHLETES NAMED TO BLINN HONOR ROLL
Seven student-athletes achieve perfect 4.0 grade point average
Blinn College has named 92 student-athletes to the Spring 2015 Don Wilhelm Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.
To be eligible, student-athletes must post a 3.0 or better grade point average (GPA) and pass a minimum of 12 credit hours of college-level courses. Of 221 total student-athletes, 41.6 percent maintained a 3.0 or better.
Seven student-athletes achieved a perfect 4.0 grade point average. Volleyball player Gabriela Hernandez, baseball player Stephen Stuart, softball players Ashley Langston, Avery Mullendore and Courtney White, cheerleader Sydne Stephens and dancer Katarina Unger all earned 4.0 GPAs.
“I am proud of our student-athletes because they know the importance of academics,” said Scott Schumacher, Blinn athletic director.
The football team led the way with 20 players earning honor roll recognition. Eighteen of 29 baseball players maintained a 3.0 or better, cheer and dance each had 13 players on the honor roll and softball fielded 12 honorees.
The honor roll is named after former Blinn athletic director Don Wilhelm, an NJCAA Hall of Famer who served the College for 10 years.
