A CHANGE, A REELECTION AND A RUN OFF AFTER TUESDAY’S PRIMARY IN WASHINGTON COUNTY

  

There will be a change, a re-election and a runoff in ome of the judicial positions in Washington County after the primary Tuesday.

County Court at Law Judge Matthew Reue won a narrow re-election over challenger Eric Berg.  This is Reue’s sixth term and believes he is where he needs to be there..

 

There will be a change in the Justice of the Peace Precinct Three bench.  Retired Marine Corps Capt. Ken Tofel defeated incumbent Roy May.  Tofel had 878 votes to May’s 498 votes.  Tofel said he was gratified and knew that it was time for a change.

It is not all over yet in Washington County.  Although Incumbent Precinct Two Justice of the Peace Doug Cone easily defeated Republican Challenger Dennis Todd,  but he will face Democrat Duane Olney in November.

There will  be a run off in the Precinct Four Justice of the Peace race.  Attorney Bill Kendall  will face Robin Marie Luedtke will be in a runoff. Luedtke had 36. 9 percent of the vote, while Kendall had 388 votes.  Incumbent James McCune did not run for another term.
