22-year old Jakob Alexander Jaster is charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Just before midnight, Officer Eddie Martinez responded to the 700 block of Pecan Street in reference to a crash.

The caller said the driver of the other vehicle was possibly intoxicated and was threatening him.

According to Martinez, Jaster was unable to pass a field sobriety test.

Martinez also says an inventory of Jaster’s vehicle turned up a drug he did not have a prescription for.

  1. Back in the “Good Old Days”, when we had the military draft which greatly enhanced patriotism in the majority, offenders like this would many times be given the option – jail time or join the army. You would be AMAZED at how many came out of the military as model citizen. President Nixon’s biggest mistake was doing away with the DRAFT, NOT WATERGATE!

    1. Addiction is a real illness and he needs treatment, compassion and support to get better. It is genetic and not about willpower or bad parenting.
Jail many times only postpones the problem and adds new negative learned behaviors.
Most people don’t have a broken/mis-wired brain and struggle to believe this but brain scans are proving it’s real. Medications and DBT or CBT can help those with this illness find and maintain recovery. Visit NAMI.org or NIMH.org or SAMSHA.org
