ACKER NAMED TO ALL-FRESHMAN C-USA TEAM
Rice freshman and former Brenham Cub, Dane Acker has been selected to the C-USA All-Freshman Team.

Acker was selected on a vote of the conference's head coaches, sports information directors and a media representatives.
Acker bounced back from being sidelined earlier in the year to post a 4-2 record and 4.42 ERA in 36.2 innings on the mound. He struck out 27 and walked 19, while yielding just one home run.
The Brenham native appeared in 15 games overall and worked his way into three starting assignments.
As a Cub senior in 2017, Acker was 5-2 with a 1.79 earned run average, and was named first team All-District.
Dane is the son of Susan and Casey Acker.
