AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD TO LOOK AT ADS-B SENSORS, LEASE CHANGES

Brenham’s Airport Advisory Board will act upon proposed changes to the T-Hangar Lease Agreement at Tuesday’s meeting.

The revision aims to allow noncommercial assembly of kit-planes, or hobby airplanes.  The current lease prohibits any assembly of aircraft.  Any potential changes to the current lease would then have to be approved by the Brenham City Council, in order for them to take effect.

The Board will also hear a request to install ADS-B sensors at Brenham Municipal Airport.  ADS-B receivers track the positions of aircraft in real-time, both on the ground and in the air.  Maritime Information Systems, Inc., the provider of the equipment, says there would be no cost for the receivers, but they would have to be installed by BMA staff.

After the consent agenda, the Board will receive updates on the Airport Master Plan and runway repair project.  The Board will meet next Tuesday at 5:30 p.m., at the Brenham Municipal Airport, on 3001 Aviation Way.
