ALCOHOL AT TEXAS COLLEGE FOOTBALL GAMES?

For a long time people going to college football games in Texas have found ways to bring alcohol into the stadium but there is a move to make the alcohol consumption in the stadium legal.

The University of Houston is reportedly the only Texas university that currently offers alcohol to fans at football games, but SMU could be on board soon.  The University of North Texas at Denton is also considering serving alcohol at athletic events, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Athletics officials at the University of Texas say they have talked about selling alcohol at Darrell K. Royal Memorial Stadium but they have not moved forward with the ida.  Some are concerned about underaged drinking at the games.

Texas A&M Athletic officials say alcohol is available at some premium area of Kyle Field, such as ‘The Zone.’  They say A&M couldn’t expand sales to the whole stadium even if they wanted to because the SEC  prohibits alcohol sales and advertising within their venues.  These current rules will continue at the renovated Kyle Field.
