ALFRED, GERKE NAMED TO WCHLA BOARD

The Washington County Healthy Living Association has added two new members to its board of directors.

Deanna Alfred and Clarence Gerke have been named to the board that, among other things, operates the local senior center.

Alfred is a former assistant superintendent with the Brenham school district, and currently serves on the boards of the Brenham National Bank, the Brenham Maifest Association and the Brenham Planning and Zoning Commission.

Gerke is the co-owner of Memorial Oaks Chapel and has served on the board of the Washington County Chamber of Commerce and served on the Maifest Association board.  He also helped organize Goodfellows of Washington County and organized the “Lest They Be Forgotten” tribute to area veterans.

Both say they are honored to serve on the WCHLA board.
