A&M PRESIDENT COMMENTS ON ‘SEXUAL MISCONDUCT’ POLICY

  

The President of Texas A&M is vowing a “"comprehensive" review of university policies and procedures related to sexual misconduct.

In a statement posted to the university's web site Friday, A&M President Michael K. Young promised reviews of university protocols by both an internal task force and a third-party firm to test for "safety, support, sensitivity, timeliness and fairness to all involved that meets the highest standards."

The statement also addressed questions and criticism of university policies levied after a student's Twitter post about the handling of her assault went viral earlier this week.

Texas A&M says they have also reached out privately to offer help to those individuals who have made public statements related to sexual assault.
