A&M PURSUING ANOTHER PUBLIC/PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP

The chancellor at Texas A&M has announced plans to build a data center on the RELLIS campus.

A&M Chancellor John Sharp

John Sharp promoted the site as an attractive location for companies who could move their technology infrastructure out of the hurricane zone.

Sharp says he is also interested in building a network and security operations center.

He says he has been approached by several companies about a public-private partnership to build what would generate revenue for the system.

Interested parties have until July 28th to submit a proposal.

Two weeks ago, the chancellor talked about the system having more than $5 billion dollars of public-private partnershps during a construction update of A&M’s new hotel and conference center north of Kyle Field.
