AMBER ALERT CANCELED – CHILDREN FOUND

The parents of two children who were kidnapped begged for help Wednesday night, just hours before the siblings were found safe.Crystal Avila spoke with reporters outside her mother-in-law's home in north Houston. Avila and her husband spent hours talking with detectives about the couple's missing children: Leah, 3, and Jordan, 4.

Early Thursday, Houston police canceled the Amber Alert for the children after they were safely located. Police said one of the suspects in the case was in custody.

The Amber Alert was issued early Wednesday afternoon for the kids, who were believed to be in danger. Family members told HPD that the kids were taken from their front yard sometime in the morning. HPD identified the suspects as maternal grandmother Rose Mary Garcia along with Andrea Alarcon and Lukel Evans.

 

An Amber Alert has been issued for two missing children who were last seen at their north Houston home.

Houston police are looking for Leah Avila, 3, and Jordan Avila, 4, who were last seen at 5:45 a.m. Wednesday at their home near Crosstimbers and Bauman Road.

Both children are Hispanic and were last seen in pajamas. Leah has brown eyes and straight brown hair that falls just past her shoulders with bangs. Jordan has brown eyes and short brown hair.

Police said the three suspects are Hispanic. Rose Mary Garcia, 60, Andrea Alarcon, 34, and Lukel Evans, 18, are family members of the biological mother, who is not believed to be involved.

The suspects may be in a 2012-13 baby blue, 4-door Nissan sedan.

The children are believe to be endangered and anyone with information regarding the children, the vehicle or any of the suspects is asked to immediately call the Houston Police Department at 713-308-3600.
