ANIMAL FRIENDS OFFER LOW COST SPAY & NEUTER

Animal Friends of Washington County has received a $35,000 grant from PetSmart Charities, the leading funder of animal welfare in North America.

The funds will be used to help fuel spay and neuter efforts in the Brenham area.

With the help of the donation, the organization says it will offer $20 spays for female cats and $25 spays for dogs during the month of March.

Authorities say spaying and neutering is one of the most effective ways to reduce the homeless pet population and is safe for puppies and kittens at four months or older.

This special $20- $25 rate is available to all residents of Brenham and the surrounding area.

Pet owners who wish to take advantage of this offer must mention the “Beat the Heat” campaign when they schedule their appointment. This campaign is based on availability and is limited to two pets per household.

Pets must be client owned and be at least 4 months old and 4 pounds.  Eligible dogs are limited to 95 pounds.

For more information or to schedule an appointment, visit www.AFvet.org or call 979-277-0400.

PetSmart Charities has facilitated over 1.7 million spay and neuter surgeries in the U.S. since 2009.
