The fest will be held at the St. Paul Lutheran Church picnic grounds and Texas Wendish Heritage Society Museum in Serbin.

The all-day event will begin with a service at 8:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church. A German church service will then be held at 10:30. Church tours will be available at 12:30 and 1:30.

A meal will be served from 9:45 until 1:30 at the church’s picnic grounds. The meal will feature sausage, sauerkraut, green beans, Wendish noodles, beets, peaches and homemade bread. Tickets are $9 for adults and $4 for children.

The picnic grounds will have a silent auction from 10 a.m. to 2:30, a washer pitching contest at 2 p.m. and a cross-cut saw contest at 4:45.

Children’s activities include stick horse races at 1 p.m., a coloring contest at 1:30 p.m., face painting from 1:30 until 4 p.m. and train rides at 2 p.m. There will also be a bounce house and greased pole climbing.

The snack booths will open at 2 p.m. and will have: sausage, sauerkraut boats, wraps, drumsticks, noodles and desserts.

In the pavilion there will be a coffee cake bake-off at 10:30 and a live auction at 2 p.m. All proceeds from the auction will go to the Texas Wendish Heritage Scholarship Fun.

There will be noodle making classes at 2 p.m., sausage stuffing at 2:30 and wine making at 3 p.m.

Music will be provided all day at the pavilion by the Brazos Polka Kapala. The ensemble will play a variety of music and styles with unique instrumentation, offering an eclectic mix of familiar melodies, fiddle music, ragtime, jazzy tunes, and of course a healthy collection of polkas (featuring many traditional Wendish polkas).

In the Kilian Building and St. Paul Building there will be Wendish Easter egg decorating, rope making, quilting, lace making and Wendish Pickle tasting from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
