ANOTHER HARD FREEZE BUT A WARMING TREND COMING

The record breaking, bone chilling hard freeze continued overnight in Brenham, Washington County and the entire Brazos Valley.

The morning low for Brenham was just below 20 degrees.  The thermometer  did not rise above the freezing mark until the early afternoon hours, Monday.

This is the coldest weather in the Brazos Valley since February 2nd, 2011, when the temperatures across the Brazos Valley, including Washington County, dipped into the high teens.

The good news from the National Weather Service is that the cold temperatures will be short lived.  The NWS says southerly winds are returning today (Tuesday), starting a slow warming trend in the Brazos Valley.  Temperatures are likely to reach up to the low 70s Friday afternoon.
