APPLEWHITE TO REMAIN AT U OF H

Former Texas Longhorn quarterback Major Applewhite has decided to remain the offensive coordinator at the University of Houston.

Applewhite, yesterday, withdrew his name from consideration for the open head coach’s position at Texas State.

Bobcat Head Coach Dennis Franchione announced his retirement last month.
