ARREST MADE IN 2009 WASHINGTON COUNTY MURDER
A Houston man has been arrested and charged in a six-year old Washington County murder case.

Sheriff Otto Hanak reports that 26-year old Taylor Hutson Edmiston of Houston has been charged in the 2009 shooting death of Vincent Gourley.
Gourley’s body was found at a hunting lodge off Highway 290 East of Chappell Hill near the Brazos River.
Gourley, who was a caretaker at the property, was found dead of a gunshot wound on February 27th, 2009. At the time, authorities believe Gourley interrupted a burglary in-progress.
Sheriff Otto Hanak states that this case became a priority for the Sheriff's Office and the 21st Judicial District Attorney’s Office after Julie Renken and he took office in 2013.
After an extensive investigation by Sheriff’s Investigator Mark Whidden and Texas Ranger Jeff Wolf, Renken presented this case to a Washington County Grand Jury, which indicted Edmiston last Tuesday.
Edmiston was arrested in Houston by Whidden and Wolf without incident. He is being held en lieu of $300,000 bond.
