  1. I agree that it’s not right and that’s not how to react to bullying. I don’t think any school takes bullying serious enough. In most cases nothing is done and things like this are the result. If schools and/or some parents took bullying more serious maybe we wouldn’t have so much violence in schools and maybe the child suicide rate would decline. I can’t stand how people get on here bluntly and/or rudely stating their opinion without even knowing the whole situation. Why not put yourself in her shoes or even her parents shoes. Sometimes some situations just aren’t what they seem and sometimes they are. If she truly was being bullied and she said it because that was the only way she felt she could attempt to handle the situation, instead of just throwing her in jail get her some help. We all make mistakes, especially when we’re young and dumb. I’m sure we’ve all made questionable decisions and said things that shouldn’t be said. If you’ve ever been a victim of bullying i’m sure you can see things from my point of view.

  2. Making threats in this day and time is a serious thing. I’m sorry if she was being bullied but that is not a reason to threaten to shoot or kill someone. She should have reported it to authorities. Now she has a heap of trouble on her hands.

  3. Threats are threats. If she was being bullied she should have reported it. By doing what she did it got her in trouble. Have to be careful what you say especially these days.

  4. She needs to be severely punished to let her know that her threat is very serious and you can’t go around acting like that!

    1. Don’t judge till u know all the facts. She shouldn’t have made a threat. But she was being bullied on the bus and at school the district did nothing. It’s time for the schools to take bullying seriously and stop ignoring it! So don’t judge a book by it’s cover!

      1. To state the obvious, while bullying is wrong and should be taken very seriously, it is NEVER right to threaten to shoot up the school, especially considering the history of school shootings we are seeing in our country. While I am often a critic of many things here in Brenham, the schools have seemed to take bullying very seriously. I would expect Somerville would to. If she in fact made that threat and there are other circumstances that need to be considered, I trust our justice system to sort through that and make the right decision.
