ARRESTS MADE IN 10-YEAR OLD BRENHAM MURDER
Brenham Police have made two arrests in a 10-year old murder case.

Police have announced the arrests of two suspects for the 2003 murder of 95-year old Birdell Hickey at her home in Brenham.
Charged with Capital Murder are 28-year old Gorey Cornell Burns Jr. of Navasota and 27-year old Samuel Mortay Granderson of Bryan.

Police spokesman, Corporal Chris Jackson says recent developments led authorities to the two suspects.
On September 28th of 2003, Police were called out to Hickey’s home on Armbrister Street. At the scene they found the 95-year old victim had been brutally assaulted. She died two days later at the hospital.

Sad….three lives lost! One because what she had was more important than her life to the murderers. Two more lives traded for a few material items/case. Smh
