ARRESTS MADE IN JUNE THEFT

Two Brenham 17-year olds have been charged in a theft that occurred in early June.

Washington County Sheriff’s Investigators have arrested Jarron Moore and Brisston Ragston for a theft that occurred on June 6th on Prairie Hill Road in which one 3-wheeler, four 4-wheelers, weed eaters and an air tank were stolen.

The investigation found that several individuals were involved in the theft, ranging in ages from fifteen to seventeen years old.

Wednesday, Deputy Jose Perez located and arrested 17 year old Brenham residents Jarron Moore and Brisston Ragston, charging both with felony theft.

Bonds were set at $5,000 each and both posted bonds and have been released.

Additional arrests are expected.

Three of the ATV’s and the air tank have been recovered by deputies.

  1. How do these criminals post their bonds? I work two jobs and would not be able to post bond if I did something like that, but here they are stealing and then are able to post bond too? Obviously the bond was not high enough.

    1. County resident the answer to your question: they need only post 1% to get out of jail. A relative hocks their cash car at a local small loan company. Then, in the months that follow it gives them enough time to “find” the money needed for attorney fees to get them probation.

  2. Excellent work sheriffs department! Many thanks from a grateful public for your diligent work. With this kind of quality law enforcement, thieves may think twice before committing a crime in this county. Now it is up to the court house to do a good job and give meaningful punishment to these criminals.
