Dallas Keuchel continued his domination of the New York Yankees, leading the Astros to a 3-0 win the one-game A.L. Wild Card game, Tuesday night at Yankee Stadium.

Keuchel, working on three-days rest for the first time in his career, held the Yankees scoreless over six innings, on just three hits, while striking out seven batters.

For the season, Keuchel (20-8 in 2015) is 3-0 against the New Yorkers, with a 0.00 ERA in 22 innings pitched.

Houston took the early lead on Yankee starter Masahiro Tanaka (12-7), on a solo homerun by Colby Rasmus to lead off the second inning.

Carlos Gomez led off the fourth inning with a solo homer to increase the Astros’ lead to 2-0.

The Astros added a run in the seventh inning on Jose Altuve’s rbi-single.

Tony Sipp, Will Harris and Luke Gregerson each threw on shutout inning to preserve the win.

The Astros advance to the ALDS, where they will face the Kansas City Royals in a best three-of-five.

Game one is Thursday evening at 6:35 in Kansas City.

The Astros will start Collin McHugh (19-7) on the mound, while the Royals will counter with Yordano Ventura (13-8).

  1. Way to go Astros! Great game! The small payroll Astros just beat the rich Yankees! I love it! They were relaxed and the stage of New York was not a problem! It’s gonna be fun to see how far they can go!
