ATTORNEYS REQUEST GAG ORDER IN SANDRA BLAND CASE

Attorneys for Waller County have requested a gag order in the Sandra Bland case in an attempt to help keep the case from being tried in the public. Waller County’s attorneys have asked a federal judge for the protective order in the lawsuit filed by Sandra Bland’s mother.

The request, filed on Thursday, asks the court to prohibit witnesses and lawyers from releasing discovery material to the media. In addition, attorneys are asking the court to seal all sworn depositions.

This comes as the Prairie View Police officer, Michael Kelley, claims Waller County’s top prosecutors threatened to end his career if he came forward with what he says is evidence of wrongdoing in the Sandra Bland case. Prosecutors strongly deny Kelley’s allegations, saying that Kelley is only coming forward to distract from his own indictment in a separate use-of-force case.

  1. God knows all the facts! He will judge fairly and we will find out in the end! He will judge police and citizens and the White House! We will all know who was on His side and who wasn’t! The truth will be seen for everyone come judgement day!

  2. This is the double standard world we live in. When a unarmed black man is gunned down they are letting all the cats out of the bag. His criminal record (nothing to do with him being shot), financial status (behind on child support), and any other thing that can make him look bad and take the spotlight off of the incident that got him killed. We still don’t believe we don’t have a race distinction in America? It is so bad that people try and turn their heads like nothing is wrong. Look at social media. People were changing their profile pictures when an ape got killed, when the gay rights act got passed, Blue Lives Matter and other conflicts in other parts of the country, but you say Black Lives Matter and nothing. There is no support only resistance and denial along with every excuse in the book to acknowledge the fact a problem exist. May GOD keep being the almighty and forgiving GOD he is because if he turned his back to your problems, trials and tribulations like you have done towards your neighbor in which he created. Where would you be? It is sad that as a veteran of two (2) wars that my life matters more to the American people and citizens during wartime overseas but no recognition for the struggles here on American soil…..

    1. A double standard is cited and indeed there is a double standard, it is within the BLM movement itself. How about citing the stats of black on black violence? Lets see those numbers and talk about the number of blacks being killed by people of the same race. Those numbers are sadly very large. If BLM really cares about black lives, why are they not trying to make a difference with their own community. You cite God in the above statement, God created a design for a family where a man marries a woman and they raise a family together according to his principals. However within the black community the breakdown of the family has be tragically pervasive. Where is the BLM movement when it comes to building up and supporting black family structure instead of blaming other races for their problems? Where is the BLM movement in helping young black men obtain job training and encouraging socially responsibly behavior that will allow their families and children to survive and prosper in our country. The answer is that they are completely silent, it is easier to blame others for your problems than it is to engage in responsible behavior that will build people up instead of tearing them down. It is easier to play “victim” than it is to fix what is wrong! Sadly the civil rights movement has gone from seeking equality to one of victimhood and seeking to take from others things they do not deserve through the power of government instead of taking responsibility and raising the next generation of young black people for success in our country. It is time to start focusing on building families up, put an end to the single parent “baby mama” mentality that depends upon government support to survive, and start raising all our kids to function within moral boundaries that God designed. It is time for some personal responsibility to be brought back into our society!

  3. Where are all the “anti-crooked hilary” and “vote right” people now ? If they didn’t do anything wrong they wouldn’t want to put a gag order on this case. They wouldn’t try to hide away seal depositions. If they have nothing to hide lay it all out on the table and let the truth and justice system prevail. Knowledge in the media and public hands is power and waller County had shown they do not want us to know the whole truth and will do anything necessary to hide wrong doings

    1. I agree with you, they need to let the facts of the case be known. I cannot stand “crooked Hilary” and am very conservative and will always vote to the right. However, after watching all the video that was available online, Ms. Bland had no business being arrested and this officer created the conflict. I am all for the public knowing all the facts in the case. This is not an issue of race, this is an issue of police mis-conduct. I support our police and think what the BLM People are doing is horribly wrong, but in this case it is clear we have an officer who conducted himself very badly and no must face the consequences.

      1. BLM is wrong for bringing forward the injustice that is being done worldwide? Are some of the killings justified? I’m quite sure they are but have you yet hear that a department took responsibility of the wrongful death? No because it gets settled in civil court and dies out. Out of 149 unarmed black men this year and no convictions? Seems a little odd don’t you think. Getting shot 45 times isn’t extreme either. Before speaking on the movement you may want to research it and not from the comfort of your home. All lives matter and BLM states that but not all lives are being gunned down at this particular time. It is so easy to push it to the side when you aren’t the one faced with worries and injustices that have occurred.

        1. I appreciate the un-cited “statistic” that 149 unarmed black men this year have been shot if it is true, but what is missing is how many people who are unarmed from other races have been shot this year? When you give a small piece of the information it is hard to evaluate whether or not we have a problem. Also, the fact that someone may have been unarmed does not mean they may not have presented some form of a threat to the officer, again without more data it is hard to give validity to your statement. It has also been interesting to watch the BLM do very little/nothing to stand beside our law enforcement personnel and their families who have been gunned down as a direct result of the racial division being created by Obama/BLM. If the BLM movement feels strongly that “all lives matter” why are they not supporting the police officers and their families who have been gunned down, in some cases protecting the right of the BLM movement to protest. The hypocrisy of this movement is stunning!

          1. It is simple where you receive your information and your stand. With that being said I have learned that people who won’t admit wrong, can’t see wrong are usually WRONG. May GOD Bless this nation

  4. So sad how they are trying to hide there wrong doings. They say he is trying to distract others from his indictment I think he feels that “I’m already in trouble now so I might as well tell the truth.” So said that the truth is coming out but now no one wants to hear it. Yet they are the ones to make sure justice is served. I truly think those attorneys said why they said to that officer. Now they are trying to distract attention from them selves now that the truth has been revealed. They need to own up to there mistakes and let justice be served. God sees and hears everything always remember that.
