AUSTIN CO. OFFICIALS: WOMAN DROWNED IN FLOOD WATERS
Austin County authorities have confirmed on person has died as a result of the recent flooding.
According to Austin County Sheriff Jack Brandes, a female resident of Austin County was returning home from work early Monday morning.
Authorities say she drove her vehicle into high water and drowned on Plum Creek Road, near Cat Spring in Austin County.
The woman’s name is being withheld, pending notification of family.
Sheriff Brandes reminds travelers that in the event of high water over roadways, Please Turn Around Don’t Drown.
