AUSTIN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS DISCUSS JAIL MOLD PROBLEMS

As Austin County Commissioners prepare to begin work on mold problems at their jail, they have other building problems to deal with.

During their meeting this (Monday) morning, Austin County Commissioners will discuss leaks and repairs at the courthouse in Bellville, and at the Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace Building.  Austin County has been forced to house their prisoners in neighboring Fort Bend County since mold was discovered in the jail in April.  The State Jail Commission has signed off on a proposed solution to remedy that problem, and work will begin soon.

In other action at this (Monday) morning’s meeting, a Director to the Austin County Appraisal District Board will be appointed.  The Commissioners will discuss a change order for construction of Old Highway 36 and Old Nelsonville Road Rehabilitation.  And they will proclaim October German American Month and Czech Heritage Month.

The Austin County Commissioners meet at 9 o’clock this (Monday) morning in the courthouse in Bellville.
