AUSTIN COUNTY TO REPAIR, REPLACE BRIDGES IN AREA
Austin County Commissioners are planning to repair and replace several bridges in the area.
Commissioners approved a resolution at a recent meeting to replace a bridge on Norman Road, and matched funds on a TxDOT project to repair the Mill Creek Road Bridge.
Replacement for the wooden bridge on Norman Road, on the school bus route, is estimated to cost over $105,000. Repairs for the Mill Creek Bridge are estimated at around $800,000, but the county will only have to cover $80,000 – about 10 percent. The other 90 percent is split 80-10 between federal and state funding, respectively.
