AUSTIN MAN ARRESTED AFTER DISTURBANCE AT LOCAL WALMART

  

A disturbance at a local department store led to an arrest of an Austin man on a pair of charges.

Sunday night, just before 11:00, Officer Eddie Martinez was dispatched to WalMart, in the 200 block of US HWY 290 West, to a disturbance.

Upon arrival, police found that the Suspect had left the scene.  A short time later, 28-year old Michael Joshua Smith of Austin was located at the 500 block of Hwy 290 East.

Officers located a weapon inside his truck, and dispatch also confirmed that he had a suspended driver’s license.

Smith was taken into custody and booked in for Unlawful Possession of Firearm by Felon and Driving While License Invalid.
