AVHA NOOR WINS WASHINGTON CO. SPELLING BEE

Third grader Avha Noor has won the Washington County Spelling Bee for the second year in a row. She outlasted 23 other competitors Tuesday evening at the Bee at Alton Elementary.  Second place finisher Erissa Spry faltered in round 21 on the word ingenious.  Noor correctly spelled it along with the final word, femininity.

Ava Noor is a third grader at Brenham Elementary and the daughter of Sultana and Citizen Noor.  Second place finisher Erissa Spry is an 8th grader at Brenham Junior High and the daughter of Elisa Spry.  Third place finisher Brett Campbell is a 4th grade student at Brenham Elementary and the son of Aaron and Jennifer Campbell.  All three received a cash prize from KWHI and will go on to represent Washington County at the Regional Spelling Bee.
