BARNHILL CENTER RECEIVES PUBLICITY IN TEXAS ARCHITECT MAGAZINE

  

Brenham’s Barnhill Center and Historic Simon Theatre received some welcome publicity recently.  Photos from the renovation project at the Simon were used to illustrate an article in the March/April edition of Texas Architect Magazine.  The article goes over the ins and outs of using the Federal Historic Tax Credit Program.  That program was used in the fundraising for the Simon restoration.  The article also points out how important historical structures are to a community and the need for preserving them.  It says that many of the natural energy efficient design features found in modern buildings were actually part of the design of these old structures.
