BELLVILLE WOMAN ARRESTED WITH NARCOTICS
A Bellville woman faces a drug possession charge after her arrest Monday morning.
Around 10 a.m. Monday, Cpl. Edward Ortega responded to the 600 block of Main St in reference to a suspicious person.
Ortega located 35-year old Brittany Cook of Bellville.
According to Ortega, Cook showed signs of intoxication and failed a field sobriety test.
During a search, Ortega reports narcotic pills were found in Cook’s pocket.
She is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance – under 28 grams.

As sad as it may seem, the last chance some of these addicts may have to overcome their addiction, is a patrol officer who places them in position where they may necessarily be handcuffed and taken to jail where they may or may not begin their long road to recovery. Good job officer Ortega, both in enforcing the law and trying to save Brittany from herself
