I agree with “Good Deeds”. What makes this any different than a benefit to help defray medical costs for someone. My goodness, talk about selfishness of some people. I applaud the group helping to get this going. I wish them a LARGE CROWD !!!!!
How does one enter the chili cookoff?
Because the marina and campgrounds are privately owned..
Not sure how I feel about this. They charge for various activities. Lake Somerville is a Texas State Park? How come isn’t the great state of Texas pitching in?
Because I believe the marina and campgrounds are privatley owned..
You are right……Overlook is privately owned…..this will not benefit the rest of the parks. …count me out.
they have an enormous amount of damage insurance won’t pay, like restoring the gas lines. This is a wonderful gesture.

Count me in. Anything to help the lake, public or privately owned businesses around the area is a great start.
Texas gov’t helps it’s own TX parks (withyour taxes, too).
This is [private] people helping [private] people. The way Jesus says to.
What goes around comes around (multiplied)– you might need the help one day.
Everyone get out and help. That’s what community does! It cares!
Lake Somerville is NOT a State Park, it is operated and maintained by a The Army Corp of Engineers.
